First movie I ever made. Junior year of high school (that'd be, geez, 2001 - 2002. I feel so old), I took a filmmaking class, where we had to write/direct/edit our own movies. I believe the teachers were expecting little 10-minute shorts about emotions and stuff. Imagine their surprise then, when, at the end of the year, I turned in my 48-minute sci-fi action comedy epic about me and my friends battling hyper-intelligent monkeys for the fate of a Caddilac (and, later, the entire Chicagoland area). I'm an overachiever when it comes to student films. Reading that plot description now, I'm also freakin' schizophrenic. All in all, I think it turned out pretty damn good. Especially considering that no one involved had the slightest idea what the hell they were doing. You should check out the official site. Most of the content there is basically unchanged since the original Monkeys website. Which was, in all honesty, crap. Or, if you like this movie so much that you want to pay money to see it with better quality and a crapload of extras, you can buy the new "Monkeys SuperDVD" at the Fire Assault Store. I'm not going to force you to or anything, but, well, I think you'd enjoy it. Note: You need Quicktime to watch the Monkeys movies and Curse of the Wolf, because they're too long for YouTube's stupid size regulations. |
